Mandolin Coping Skills

So, I’ve been working on my coping skills. Sometimes, you have to do something different for a little while, and let your other coping skills have a break. This is because not everything works in every situation, and some coping skills get worn out. My newest endeavor is playing the mandolin.

Now, I’m sure I’m not the only person to try something new that is a bit obnoxious to others. I mean, it’s loud, I play the same 4 chords over, and over, and over… and I suck. So, I have to give a special shout out to my family, for bearing with me while I try to improve. Jenny and the kids have made a point of going on with their regular routines while I practice, allowing me to improve with less stress overall. It is such a blessing.

Now, if I can just get over sore fingertips, and learn to tune the darn thing properly, then I will be set to not annoy myself.
